Last year Fields of Life set up an Australian office and started working with schools and churches to partner with communities in East Africa. This included funds being raised to construct a well in Hoima, a volunteer team dispatched to Uganda in December 2009 and thousands of pens delivered from school children through the ‘Ink Big’ campaign.
Unfortunately the process of obtaining tax deductability (to enable donors to give tax efficiently) could take another 18 or more months to complete. The Irish & Australian Boards have decided to slow things down until then, which means the Australian office will go into hibernation!
So things will be a little quieter this year. Having said that, if you are keen to get involved in some way please still get in touch with us. This cause will continue, and you will still get updates on the work of FOL internationally.
Next year we are optimistic that operations will be up and running again.
