JOSEPHINE%27S+STORY

'Praise be to the Lord. I am Josephine Mirembe, I am 24 years old and I was born on the 22nd August, in Seeta, a village near Fields of Life Academy.

I entered the sponsorship programme when I was 13 years old and that was 1997 when Uncle Trevor started Fields of Life Academy.  'Before entering the system I had lost both my parents within one week.'

I went to the school seeking help but at that time FOLA had only nursery to P.5, yet I was in P.6. Therefore I continued to study at another school while having some extra lessons at FOLA.

After primary level I went to a certain school in Gayaza for my Senior 1, that was 1999. In 2000 I joined a new school and that is where I completed my 'O' and 'A' levels. Even though I was not at a Fields of Life school initially I was still supplied with books, pencils, pens, school fees plus uniform and Christmas gifts.

When I was given the opportunity I was so happy and glad because at that time I had lost both parents and my relatives could not support me, so I was blessed and that was the time that I gave my life to Jesus because I had lost hope, but He restored it and since that time dear friend my life totally changed.

Today I have completed university and I know I have a future

just because of God who used FOL to raise me up.

Currently I work with FOL in the Ugandan head office, which is headed by Kennedy Nkolenta. I work in the sponsorship department. It feels so good to work with FOL because they treat everyone well and we call ourselves a family, since we are a family.

'Secondly I like working in sponsorship because we deal with children and it is my joy.'

I normally say that FOL's motto would have been helping others to help themselves and this creates unity in the family of FOL.

That's all about me, God bless you

Josephine Mirembe'
