It is Fields of Life’s intent that all volunteering and fundraising activities are conducted in a positive, safe manner in which all volunteers can undertake in a productive and professional manner. It is with this intent that the Fields of Life Code of Conduct is presented to contribute to good volunteering practices, and standards of conduct. 1. Fields of Life must be informed of any fundraising activity that you carry out. You must have permission from Fields of Life to carry out the activity. Written permission must be obtained before using the Fields of Life logo in any way.
2. Appropriate insurance must be in place for all fundraising activities, including Public Liability insurance. Any buildings used for fundraising activities must have carried out a thorough and successful Risk Assessment.
3. No illegal drugs or substances are to be consumed during any fundraising event or activity. Due judgement must be exercised at events where alcohol is present. For the entire fundraising experience, you are representing yourself, your team or organisation and are a reflection of the Fields of Life standards.
4. Whatever your fundraising activity, you must operate within the law and use appropriate methods for soliciting funds.
5. Respect of possessions and property of others are to be maintained at all times. Due care needs to be taken with personal belongings.
6. There should be no abusive or disrespectful behaviour toward other volunteers or the public, either verbally or physically. Please be mindful that shouting, loud talk, gossiping, coarse or obscene language, provoking or instigating rough physical contact may be perceived incorrectly.
7. It is vital that all fundraisers adhere STRICTLY to child protection guidelines, especially at events for children or involving children. Fundraisers must treat children of all races, religions and cultures with respect.
8. Funds raised on behalf of Fields of Life projects should be accurately reported and disbursed in a timely fashion once the fundraising activity has been completed. You must not misuse your volunteer fundraising role for your own personal gain. At all times you must act honestly and in such a manner that donors are not misled.
9. If a problem does arise, please speak to the Fundraising and Volunteer Co-ordinator immediately. Be open to new experiences and challenges whilst carrying out fundraising activities. It will be important to be aware of your boundaries, but to feel free to openly voice any questions or concerns. Do not act independently or impulsively.
10. You must not knowingly or recklessly release any false, misleading or confidential information in the course of your fundraising duties.
11. Fundraisers must remember Fields of Life is a Christian organisation, so you will be expected to portray a positive role model to those with which you come in contact by maintaining an attitude of respect, loyalty, patience, integrity, courtesy, tack and maturity. You must not act in a way that would pressurise or harass people.
12. Fundraisers under the age of eighteen (18) must inform Fields of Life of their age, as written consent will have to be obtained from a parent or legal guardian.
