Fields of Life appoints new Operations Director, East Africa

I am delighted to announce that David Hughes has been appointed Fields of Life’s new Operations Director, East Africa. David hails from Hertfordshire, England and brings a wealth of expertise and experience which will compliment our excellent team of staff in Kampala, Uganda.

David is a development professional having obtained his MSc in International Development from the University of Bath in 2002 where he specialised in community development and conflict resolution within sub-Saharan Africa. Since graduating David has gained extensive experience living and working throughout Africa in countries such as Malawi, Chad, South Sudan and Congo where he has held several senior management positions with organisations such as GOAL, CORD, Medair and Food for the Hungry.

I am delighted that we have been able to appoint such a competent and high calibre individual as David to lead our operations on the ground in East Africa and I have no doubt he will add real value as Fields of Life continues to grow and develop in the coming years. There is real excitement and anticipation about what the future holds and what God has planned as we seek to engage with and transform disadvantaged communities throughout East Africa.

David like myself, the Board of Directors and all the staff and volunteers in our organisation share an unwavering passion and commitment to see restoration and social justice in places of absolute and desperate need.  It is our vision that the life and teachings of Jesus continue to shape the work of Fields of Life and that people experience genuine transformation and change through the various programmes and projects which we deliver.

David starts with us on the 5th September 2011 as the next chapter of the Fields of Life journey unfolds.
