Overview

Sponsor a ChildWe are inviting you to embark on a personal relationship with a child who needs your support and encouragement bringing hope where once there was despair, poverty and oppression. You will receive a photo and a short personal history of a child to sponsor.

You can exchange letters between you. The child you sponsor will write you two letters a year plus a Christmas card. Through these letters you will be able to see the child's progress for yourself. The respective families will learn together of two very different ways of life.

Not only will you be a tremendous blessing to the child you assist but you in turn will experience great joy as you see your child mature and grow.

Your Sponsored Child

Each child sponsored through Fields of Life is only ever assigned to one sponsor. It is only when a sponsor ceases to support that we seek a new sponsor for the child

Money Matters

Fields of life ministry costs €18 (£14 for N.I.) per month. We are proud of the fact that all funds raised for this work goes towards development work in the child's community. Irish expenses are covered by private means

Communication

When you become a sponsor, you and your sponsored child have the opportunity to exchange letters and photos. You will receive the address with the photo and history of your child.

Gifts

You can send small gifts such as clothes or school requirements. However Fields of Life will not accept responsibility for gifts that do not arrive. Postage can be erratic and sometimes the parcel does not arrive. Our recommendation is to send a gift of €10 or more to fields of life and at christman time our field worker in Uganda will buy similar gifts for all the children. This stops and feelings of jealousy between the children.

The Children's Community

Rather than simply helping one child short term, your contribution will benefit your child their family and the entire community in the longer term. You may help provide a school, health care, clean water and vocational skills, whatever we feel will make the greatest impact in the area.

Visiting the child

If you are visiting Africa on a personal visit and you want to visit your sponsored child or any of our projects it is sure to be a rewarding experience. Please let the director know well in advance so that he can make the necessary arrangements for you.
